OUR PATRON

Stage Squad Youth was formed in 2017 and before that, the adult group in 2005. But even before the Squad, Sean was involved in two other theatre companies for which he wrote, produced and directed all their own shows. The first was Birchwood Amateur Dramatics Society (BADS) in Warrington which he ran in conjunction with his partner at the time. The youngest of her four children Oliver, was five when this first started and he grew up somewhere between the stage and the dressing room! Always an enthusiastic performer but mad about sports, we never expected him as a young teenager to announce his love for the theatre and his plan to pursue it as a career. Well fast forward a Musical Theatre and Drama course at Priestly College and a Diploma from Liverpool Theatre School plus countless train trips up and down to London and numerous nights couch surfing and finally, all his hard work started to pay off! He landed a part in the ensemble of the West End run of The Book of Mormon in 2015 and stayed there for three years working his way up to first cover before moving on to play Lucas Benieke in the Addams Family UK Tour in 2017. Following that Oliver appeared in Nerds, Cats, High Fidelity and Back to the Future before finally hitting the bullseye when he landed the role of Prince Hans in Disney's Frozen at Drury Lane on the West End. Oliver has recently just co-written, produced and directed his first full show back in his home town in Warrington but is still flying here there and everywhere and we're expecting news of his next adventure any time now! Oliver found a hidden talent and his love for this craft by doing exactly what our members young and old alike are doing right now, so it seemed very appropriate for Oliver to become our Patron. He is a lovely, kind-hearted and generous young man and we're hoping to welcome him soon for a summer workshop.
